The Formula is a good and uniquie looking directional snowboard for those that are sick of renting and want a good board to learn the basics in the park. It's stronger in the park but still fun on the mountain. For 2011 Arbor changed the formula into a pretty functional all conditions rocker snowboard. With the exception of a little fine tuning the 2012 Arbor Formula isn't that much different from 2011. The float in powder is better so you won't cartweel as much in the deeper stuff. The turn inititiation is much easier as well so the beginner can turn without catching an edge. The edge hold with their new side cut works very well to create a good grip without feeling overly grippy like some complain magnetraction can do. All in all this is one of the better beginner snowboards out there. Once you get better the formula will become obsoleete but it's one of the best boards you can start on.
